Each summer we offer five-day dance camps and limited ongoing classes. Camps are designed to appeal to specific age groups and all of our camps include lots of wonderful dance exploration.

Our younger dancers enjoy fun crafts and healthy snacks, and are always thrilled to show what they've learned to families and friends in a performance on the last day of camp.

Older dancers have a unique opportunity to explore dances from around the world and learn how to choreograph their own one-of-a-kind dances. A performance is also offered to friends, family, and the community.

This past summer 2010 we had a very special two-day improv theater camp experience facilitated by Julie Oak of Realplay out of Santa Cruz. High school drama students from three area schools came together to practice, learn and stretch their ability at improv theater. This opportunity will be offered again this school year, as well as summer 2011! Check out the pictures below

Tippy Toes Dance Camp

Our 3 - 5 year old campers went home after a week of dance and craft making bliss! Check it out:

This year our dancers joined our Creative Dance and Movement mascot, Tippy Toes, and her animal friends, Ballerino Nate, Gerald the Giraffe, and many others, as we traveled around the world through story books, exploring creativity through dance, music, and crafts.

Each day, dancers had fun learning Creative Movement, Pre-ballet, and tumbling. We also had a wonderful time making unique crafts to take home.

This very special camp is designed for BOTH boys and girls!

Fancy Nancy Dance Camp

What fun our fancy dancers had this year dancing, having tea parties, and putting on an amazing show for family and friends.

For: 5 - 7 year olds

Our dancers had an unforgettable summer dance camp experience. Together we immersed ourselves in the Fancy Nancy lifestyle, with tea parties and fancy crafts many of which campers used in the performance for families and friends on the last day of camp.

We also had fun learning Creative Movement, Tap, tumbling and practicing some ballet basics. We had daily tea parties and read our favorite Fancy Nancy story books too!

It’s Our World! Dance Camp

Take a journey around the world through dance!

In this exciting recreational dance program, teens and preteens discovered a new dance style every day.

Dancers started the day exploring modern dance, learning modern dance technique and form through improvisation, and composition. They later met with teachers who specialize in teaching dance styles found in cultures from around the world. Dancers then took all their new skills and created amazing dances that they performed for family and friends on the last day of camp.

The dance styles we explored this summer 2010 were African, Aztec, Hula, Romanian Folk Dance, and Scottish Country Dancing. In the future, we hope to also explore Broadway Jazz, Filipino Tinikling, Mexican Folklorico, and more.

Drama Improv Workshop

For: high school students.

As mentioned above, this two-day workshop saw our local high school drama students stretching the limits of their creativity through improvisational theater. This camp will definitely return to Creative Dance and Movement and the Prunedale Dance Center!
